Review: FunKit Toys NoFrillDo X

Funkit Toys is a wonderful little operation committed to making affordable, body-safe sex toys. They work primarily with silicone, and are known for their transparent toys that have ribbons of color through them. However, what I love best about Funkit Toys is their “NoFrillDo” series.

The first series of the NoFrillDos included the R, G, and B designs. All of these are slim toys made with body-safe silicone that come at the low price of $24. The price point is absolutely the appeal of these toys for me. They’re great basic designs, but as the name suggests they’re nothing overly exciting. These are ideal toys for someone who is just starting off exploring toys and wants a safe, low-cost option. They’re perfect for this situation.

The NoFrillDo X is part of the second series of NoFrillDos, which includes the X and L. These toys are thicker, have some more texture to them, but cost a bit more. At $40 a pop, they’re a nice option for those looking to step up their sex toy game, without breaking the bank too much.

Appearance

The NoFrillDo X is a single-density textured dildo on the thicker end of the scale. It’s 7” insertable in length and 1.75” diameter. While not the biggest dildo in my collection, it’s certainly thicker than the average toy.

Its texture is consistent throughout the toy, with small ridges or bumps down the shaft. It’s definitely a noticeable texture, especially if you’re thrusting with this toy. However, its single density and basic black color option mean it’s still classified as a “NoFrillDo.”

My only issue with this toy is with the base. I noticed an uneven base on my NoFrillDo X and thought it was an error, in all honesty. That is, until I checked out the product photos on SheVibe and noticed that the base is simply designed to be uneven. This means that part of the base is very thin, and the entire thing isn’t thick or wide enough to make me feel comfortable using this anally. Of course, this isn’t an issue for vaginal use of the toy, but it is something to be aware of.

Care & Cleaning

Because the NoFrillDo X is made of silicone, it’s super easy to clean. A simple hand-wash with soap and water is sufficient for solo play. If multiple people are using it or if it’s going from anal* to vaginal penetration, be sure to sanitize it in one of the following ways:

Boiling for five minutes
10% bleach solution soak
Top rack of the dishwasher on “sanitize”

*Although the maker, Funkit Toys, classifies this toy as harness compatible and anal-safe, the flange (base) on it is quite small, and I would agree with SheVibe in saying you should exercise caution if attempting to use this toy anally.

Conclusion

The NoFrillDo X is a really nice option if you’re looking for a basic dildo that is a bit on the thicker side and has some simple texture to it. It’s not as affordable as the $24 smaller versions, but it’s still a decently-priced toy for someone who wants to make sure they’re using safe sex toy materials who may also be on a budget. It may not be luxurious, but it’s properly named and affordable. What you see is what you get with these guys.
