Review: Tea Time Porcelain Pure Dildo (My Fucsia)

My Fucsia’s Tea Time Porcelain Pure Dildo is a delicate beauty that will fit in with any grandmother’s decor. Its blue china pattern is a classic symbol of civility and class, and the golden trim at the bottom only adds to it. It also comes in red, or a variety of modern designs if you’re not digging the graceful charm of the floral china pattern. This toy is the first porcelain dildo in my collection, and is definitely a distinctive piece based on appearance alone. However, there is always more to a good toy than looks.

Porcelain Material

Porcelain is an uncommon sex toy material, though it is body-safe. The glaze coating makes the surface of the dildo nonporous. While the inside is unglazed, the chances of body fluids getting inside are very low, as the hole at the base is small and out of the way.

The surface is very smooth and this particular model has no texture–though two other models by My Fucsia have bumps for added sensation. The inside is hollow, but the porcelain is thick enough to ensure it would not break during normal use, even if your kegel game is strong. It is, however, a very fragile toy if you were to drop it or store it with other rigid toys (such as glass or steel toys). For storage, I recommend keeping it in the container it comes in (it fits into a cut-out piece of foam at the bottom to keep it away from the outside of the container) or storing it in a padded toy bag.

This porcelain dildo, to me, feels a lot like a glass toy. They’re very hard and obviously not flexible or squishy in any way. For someone used to silicone toys, it takes some getting used to. While I mainly played with glass several years ago, I found myself drawn to silicone dildos more recently, making this toy a bit of a challenge for me to get used to again. Its rigid material, combined with the shape and size of this toy made is especially difficult to work with.

Shape & Size

The Tea Time Porcelain Pure Dildo has an aesthetically pleasing shape, with a torpedo-like curve to its body. The base is slightly flared, but not wider than the widest point of the toy so I don’t recommend it for anal use.

Length: 8.25”
Insertable Length: 7.5”
Widest Point: 1.75”

As someone who mostly uses silicone dildos the same size as the Tea Time dildo, I didn’t expect size to be the massive (pun intended) issue it was. Then again, I completely ignored the fact that most glass dildos are on the small end of the spectrum. The things is, when a large silicone dildo is used, it’s able to flex with the body and contract a bit to feel comfortable even in tight spaces. Porcelain, glass, and steel, however, don’t do this.

Inserting the Tea Time Porcelain Pure Dildo felt very nice due to the cool, smooth texture–but only for a few inches. After I had some of its length inside me, it grew uncomfortable. I shifted around on the bed multiple times, added lube, and changed hand position to no avail. The bulbous curve of the dildo was filling, but made it very difficult to move the toy in any way without painfully poking me.

7.5” of insertable length sounds like no challenge to me but because of the stiff, unforgiving size, it was not a pleasurable experience to try to take it all. Perhaps if the dildo had a slight curve to the length, it would be more comfortable, but the completely straight shaft was more than I was able to accomodate.

The only way I was able to get off with the Tea Time Porcelain Pure Dildo was limiting myself to the first few inches and pairing with a Doxy wand or using it for temperature play.

Temperature Play

The Tea Time Porcelain Pure Dildo has a hole at the base, which allows access to the hollow inside. Because of this, it can be used for temperature play. Simply fill the dildo with hot or cold water, let it sit for a few minutes, empty, and insert. The porcelain is a good conductor of temperature, so you can incorporate an excitingly cool or warm, relaxing sensation to your play time.

If using hot water, be careful as to how hot the water you’re using is. Do not use boiling water with this toy, especially for temperature play, as that can damage the toy and/or cause injury. I would also avoid putting this toy in the freezer due to its delicate nature. Stick to cold and hot (or very warm) water in order to get a range of sensations.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Because it is nonporous, the Tea Time dildo is easy to clean. Soap and water do the trick for solo use. The included instructions do say to avoid boiling water, so I would not advise boiling to sterilize. If sharing between partners, I would advise using a condom on this toy to make cleanup even easier and avoid the spread of any possible infections.

When washing this toy or filling the inside for temperature play, be sure to dry in an upright position (I use a dish rack) to ensure the inside is free of water before storing to avoid mold growth.

Final Thoughts

The My Fucsia Tea Time Porcelain Pure Dildo is a really interesting piece. It’s gorgeous to look at and offers some exciting new sensations for people new to non-silicone toys or temperature play. The size, combined with the inflexibility, was a bit much for my body to handle but I still found ways to enjoy it. Obviously, not everyone is going to have an issue with this. Folks who love steel or glass toys are going to equally love the feel of porcelain. However, for those who may not have a lot of experience with sex toys or use toys on a the smaller end of the spectrum, this one may not be your cup of tea.
